We love everything about our backyard and the best part was the owner’s ability to listen to the ideas and put them together into a design that really worked for us. He was very open and flexible to all ideas. We always felt very comfortable in discussions.

The quality of the work was amazing. He and his team are very knowledgeable, reliable, patient, and detail oriented. He was also very flexible to work with our schedules to go view different products in order to make decisions and he was supporting us the entire way. He checked in during the day to make sure things were going as planned.

Also very important, he ran the project on schedule throughout and he made sure our backyard was ready on time for our kids b-day pool parties. Would highly recommend Distinctive Landscapes.

I have been through many renovation projects in my career that were both larger and smaller in scale but none with a Contractor that was as professional and patient as Richard Thorne-Botham. Communication skills are key in renovation projects, especially ones at your own home and Richard has this covered! From our 1st meeting, to the countless meetings thereafter, to working over 3 seasons since we started in the fall then finished in the spring and to still be contacting Richard over a year after our job was completed and having Richard responsive as ever, the experience has been wonderful. I cannot say enough about Richard and his team at Distinctive Landscapes. My wife and I are absolutely thrilled with our newly landscaped backyard.

Richard and his team worked diligently and daily to complete a beautiful stone patio that also surrounded the pool. The job was met with various obstacles however Richard’s team was up for the challenge. Their team’s work ethic was exceptional and exceeded our expectations.

Richard communicated with us regularly on the current state of the project including sharing concerns and recommendations. Richard was highly responsive to replying be it emails or text message, a quality other contractors have lacked in our experience.

Although we had an idea of the finished project based on Richard’s blueprints, it did not prepare us when we saw our finished backyard for the first time. We were speechless and very pleased with the finished product. Furthermore, there were no surprises as far as cost, what was initially quoted was what we paid. We hosted many bbq parties to share our beautiful new yard and pool with family and friends and received many compliments as well. They were very impressed.

I have no words to describe how amazing our backyard looks and the attention to detail and workmanship Richard and the team put in to this project. They worked as if they were working at their own homes.

“A pleasure to work with…”

I met Rich when my landscaper left me in the middle of a backyard pool project. From the first minute that I spoke with Rich I could tell that he was going to be a delight to work with. Rich truly cares about his customers and wants to make sure that the finished project is done to their satisfaction. He walked me through all the steps required to finish my project and explained everything thoroughly. Rich and his team were extremely professional, on time and very transparent in their work. They fixed mistakes made by the 1st crew and not once grumbled or were hesitant to go the extra mile to make sure I was happy with the results.

I will be hiring Rich and his team again this spring to complete phase 2 of my project. I would trust no one else to complete it. My only regret is that I did not meet Rich from the very start. I know my experience would have been stellar had he been responsible for my project from day 1.
